People, Organizations and Venues Woven Psyche Has Worked With:

Available Wellness

With a background in dance, Alison Waldman is a yoga facilitator who provides workplace and community wellness through yoga, mindfulness and movement, and focuses on bringing these services to nontraditional students and spaces.  Alison is RYT-200 certified, has over a decade of experience as a body practitioner, and has been collaborating with other organizations in the DC area since 2011.

Collective Action for Safe Spaces (CASS)

CASS is an amazing DC area non-profit that combats street harassment and assault.  CASS is behind the prolific “You Deserve to be Respected” campaign you have likely seen while traveling in the Metro.  It also provides anti-harassment training at bars and restaurants, increases public awareness, and advocates for policy changes.

Colony Club

Colony Club is a Petworth neighborhood coffee house slash curated bar with a clean, contemporary vibe.  It’s great for events and is host to a number of cool workshops and programs.

Dacha Beer Garden

Located in Shaw, Dacha is one of the hippest beer gardens in the DC area.  In addition to its beer garden area, it boasts a gorgeous, rustic loft and event space that is amazing for hosting events and workshops of all kinds.

Distill Creative

Distill Creative connects artists and real estate developers for equitable and inclusive site-specific art installations, public realm artwork, and creative activations. They commission artwork and design one-of-a-kind experiences to inspire creativity and build community, with a focus on community building and cultural preservation.

Femme Fatale DC

Femme Fatale DC is a platform for collaboration and sharing between women and nonbinary entrepreneurs and creatives.  They are responsible for bringing several wildly successful pop-up spaces to various DC neighborhoods that feature woman-owned businesses and events for women, by women.

The Glow Club

The Glow Club is a meditation studio located in the Shaw neighborhood of DC dedicated to changing the way we define self-care and mindfulness.  The Glow Club describes itself as an exercise studio for active training of the mind, with classes that teach students to clear away information overload the contributes to stress.

Kimberly Pendleton

Kim Pendleton is a women’s studies professor, women’s empowerment coach, vision boarding guru, entrepreneur extraordinaire, and dear friend.  I would never have started Woven Psyche without Kim’s encouragement and business savvy, and I love co-hosting activities and events with her.

The Lavender Junkie

Priscilla of the Lavender Junkie promotes the art of sensuous living through embodiment practices.  Her mission is to help women overcome feelings of disconnectedess and disembodiment and to lead them into a place of sensuousness and a feeling of being totally in their bodies.

Little Salon

Little Salon is one of the coolest events you can possibly attend in D.C.  It brings old school salon performances by different artists to a different home in a different D.C. neighborhood every month.  If you’re hoping to catch burlesque belly dancing, a reading by a local science writer, stand-up comedy, amazing visual art, free samples from local breweries, and Bulgarian choir singing all in one evening, Little Salon is the place for you.

LouLou Boutiques

LouLou Boutiques is a DC based retail chain that has expanded well outside the District and is known for its reasonably priced jewelry, handbags and other accessories.  Woven Psyche has provided tarot readings at “sip and shop” events in collaboration with LouLou’s Dupont Circle store.

The Outrage

The Outrage is a female founded activist apparel company and community space that donates with every purchase.  It is a great place to pick up feminist swag and is doing super cool things in the District and beyond.

Shop Made in DC

Shop Made in DC is a retail+cafe operation featuring a diverse selection of DC artisans and chefs.  While the shop features lots of DC themed swag, it’s also a go-to destination for handcrafted jewelry, pottery, accessories, candles, cocktail supplies, greeting cards and kid stuff.  Shop made in DC also hosts a variety of workshops and events designed to foster a sense of local community.
