One of the first obstacles both newer and more experienced tarot readers confront is the reversed tarot card. Traditionally, tarot cards can be read different depending on whether they appear right-side-up or upside-down. But traditional book meanings for upside-down cards (called “reversals”) are often blunt, negative, and lacking in nuance. This workshop offers fresh, modern approaches to reading tarot cards in reversed position that come from a perspective of self-empowerment and personal affirmation.
What to Expect
This 1.5 hour workshop in a central DC location is appropriate both for newer tarot readers looking to dive a little deeper as well as more experienced readers looking for a fresh approach to reversed cards.
The workshop will offer moderated discussion and interactive exercises that address different methods of bringing nuance to reversal interpretation, understanding how reversals can reinforce or change our understanding of a card’s position within a spread, and whether reading reversals is even necessary at all.

How to Prepare
Students should already have a basic knowledge of tarot, including a complete understanding of the meanings of major arcana cards, the general meanings of the minor arcana suits, and have performed at least a few readings for themselves or others in the past. Students should bring a deck with them that they have experience reading with, and are encouraged to bring materials to take notes.

Refunds are not available for this class, but if you cancel at least 24 hours in advance you will receive a credit for the price of your ticket good toward any future Woven Psyche class or event within the next 6 months. E-mail wovenpsyche@gmail.com to redeem. Cancellations within fewer than 24 hours of the event start time will not receive refunds or credits.
For private classes:
Refunds are available up to one week before the agreed upon class time. After that, refunds are no longer available but Woven Psyche will be happy to work with you to reschedule for another time up to three months after the agreed upon class time.
